As a revered name in the needlecraft industry for nearly a century, Colonial Needle proudly serves as the Exclusive Distributor of highly regarded brands such as John James of England™ and Presencia™ of Spain, among others, to the Americas.

With a commitment to reliability and innovation, CNC has expanded beyond needles and is now the name and manufacturer behind popular basting glues, sewing notions, and thimbles from Roxanne™, Colonial™, and other brands.  Colonial Needle is also the owner, operator, and wholesale distributor of timeless needlepoint lines such as Kelly Clark™, Silver Needle™, Lee™, and several others.

In addition to offering an extensive product line, the company fosters a sense of community and learning by offering educational resources for needlework enthusiasts, making it a trusted companion on the creative journey.

Our History

In 1888, Augustus Brabant started the Brabant Needle Company in Watertown, New York. The needles were manufactured in Redditch, England, the center of most needle manufacturing in the world.

Specializing in door-to door sales in the United States, the company was moved in the early 1900s to New York City. Eventually, the owners settled in Yonkers, New York, and changed the name to Colonial Needle Company.

In the more recent decades, under the ownership of the Collingham Family, the core needle business has grown in scope to include the entire needlecraft industry. Now, located in White Plains, New York, our goal remains constant - to guarantee quality service and to make available the finest product lines to needleworkers everywhere.
